Isabel Toledo

Michelle Obama's Inauguration Day Outfit has been revealed earlier this morning, as she stepped out in a design by Isabel Toledo. This is not the first time Mrs. O has worn the Cuban-American designer. Pictured above, Mrs. O wore this Toledo black dress design. Today, Mrs. O went back to the designer as she selected her swearing-in outfit. Isabel Toledo attended Parsons and was the creative director of Anne Klein at one point. Toledo has designed costumes for Danza Ballet, just as Maria Pinto (another Mrs. O fav) has designed costumes for Joffrey Ballet. Maybe Mrs. O and Jackie O have one more thing in common, by being patrons of the arts.

Sasha & Malia both look adorable, per usual, bundled stylishly in candy colored wool coats, ribbon belts, and scarves. And incase you have yet to see what Mrs. O chose, have a look below. Please note, her look glitters in the sunlight much more than it seems in the photo. Also, one update on this photo, Mrs. O added green leather gloves to her ensemble, to match her green heels.
What do you guys think of her outfit?

1167 Third Street South

Very frequently, since I was a little girl, I would go on holidays with my family to the Gulf of Mexico and visit Naples, Florida. Every time in Naples, I must visit my favorite boutique, Marissa Collections. I was first introduced to Marissa as a young girl by accompanying my mother on shopping trips and sitting on the plush white sofas. Walking up to the glass door, I felt like I was about to enter Barbie's Dream Mall. This boutique is where I first learned the wonders of mixing high-end labels with everyday basics.

Today, I don't have to wait to go on family holidays to visit an old friend, I can shop her website and visit her facebook page. Also, Marissa Collections always has free shipping within the U.S. This 33 year old, 9,000 square foot boutique is a must visit. Marissa carries and endless list of favorite designers, from DVF, Earnest Sewn, Ports 1961, Marc Jacobs, McQueen, Escada, and many more. With in-store boutiques for Micheal Kors, Oscar de la Renta, Valentino & Brunello Cucinelli, you will be in heaven.

If you have the chance to make a trip down to Naples, be sure to check out their website for upcoming trunk shows and other in-store events. Marissa Collections should be on the list of any jet-setting fashionista!

"You know you love me"

Get the look of the evening:
Blair Waldorf brought in the new year with style... but can we say we are the least bit surprised? Here are my favorite looks from tonight's episode, "In the Realm of the Basses". Pictured at left in Milly's Ecru Wool Check Coat (originally $735, now $368 at Bergdorf's) Blair looks effortlessly chic.

Below, Blair is perfectly polished in this ruffle blouse. You can find the Nanette Lepore ivory cardigan at Neiman's or ShopStyle ($245 now marked down to $171).

Above, the black wool Milly dress Blair finished the episode in. Originally marked at $585, it's a steal at $292. I loved her in this look.

Next week Blair is spotted (yet again) in a Milly blouse, pictured below. I actually own this bow covered beauty in black and have yet to see it in cream.

Update: Jemma Wynne

Remember earlier last year when I wrote about the brand new jewellery line, Jemma Wynne? The online shop 25park.com is now showing pieces for purchase on their website. The Ankara Ring pictured above is my favorite so far. Priced at $11,000, I may be visiting local vintage shops searching the costume jewelery sections until I can afford the real thing. Check out the great other pieces below:

Multicolor Hoops
($5,600)

Sweetheart Ring ($2,600); Triple Pear Bangle ($3,900)

Shopping Spree

This year, my new year's resolution is to shop smarter. I don't mean shop cheaper or become and sale rat. When I say shop smarter, I mean only buy timeless and classic items. Pieces that I can fill my closet with and love for multiple seasons and many years to come. With the economy the way that it is, stores are full of clearance sales and mark-downs to distract you from the truly great pieces. If a blouse originally priced at $150 is suddenly now $19.99, it is only a good deal if you love it enough to pay the $150. If you wear it once and then pitch it, that is a waste of your time, energy, and money.

Today I had my first shopping spree of 2009 and I am happy to say that I have not broken my goal. I stopped by Target for a few things and saw the entire Thakoon line, yet realized I should attempt to control my Target spending and save up for a nicer purchase. Later, I stopped into J.crew and found some great sale items in my size. Instead of purchasing the items right then and there, I edited them down to two and had her put them on hold for me. I continued to shop and finally ended at Kate Spade.
I have been eye-ing this Savi dress ever since I saw it last August. Originally marked at $395, I decided to wait until I had the perfect place to wear it. When I walked into the store today to see only one left... in my size and (the best part) 70% off, I had to get it. 100% silk and fit like a glove, I didn't want to take it off. I suddenly forgot about my final sale items at J.crew. And paired with pearls and a polished updo, what a perfect Valentine's Day Dinner Date outfit is this?

My adorable mother on the other hand, couldn't resist the Spring Island Roslyn Dress:
